Gaza is being bombed and starved.
As the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to worsen, its people need us more than ever. Muslim Aid is on the ground Serving Humanity across the besieged enclave. Every day, Palestinians in Gaza wake up not knowing if they will survive the ongoing attacks and if they will have anything to break their fast if they get to live another day.
The World Food Programme announced that 70 percent of northern Gaza is facing catastrophic hunger, whilst UNICEF announced that malnutrition is spreading fast amongst Palestinian children in Gaza:
North Gaza: 31 percent of children under the age of two (one in every three children) suffer from acute malnutrition
Central Gaza: 28 percent of children have acute malnutrition, more than 10 percent of which have severe wasting
South Gaza: Acute malnourishment of kids has doubled to 10 percent
Muslim Aid is on the ground!
We are one of the very few charities on the ground in Gaza throughout this crisis and are even distributing 2,000 meals a day throughout Ramadan in northern Gaza, which has been cut off and has the worst cases of starvation.
We’ve been working in Gaza since 2006 and we’ve got dedicated staff members and partners that have been with us for a long time. While we couldn’t play guesswork with the political backdrop, we anticipated that a crisis like this might happen and the vulnerabilities that Gaza, a strip that has been besieged for 16 years, may face. Because of this, we have an emergency fund and a large stockpile of items prepared. We also supported partners with pre-positioned stock to streamline operations.
