Heartland is the second part of "One Perfect Sunset," which is the first offering from my forthcoming album.
Earlier this summer I captured field recordings of nature, wildlife and birds from the place I was raised in rural Nebraska and then wove them throughout the music. The recordings were taken all over eastern Nebraska while I was watching and photographing some of the most gorgeous midwest sunsets I've ever seen.
The album, Niobrara, is an homage to my upbringing in Nebraska in the 1990s and will be fully released in the Fall of 2024. Until then, sit back, relax and enjoy monthly releases from me. It's going to be a fun and beautiful ride. I cannot wait for you to hear what I've been writing the last few years.
Oh, and I figured an 8 minute song is a lot to ask of listeners these days even though I consider anything under 10 minutes short. If you're interested in hearing both songs together, I included the full 8 minute extended version on the release as a 3rd track.
