A look back at the making of my 2019 album 'Obsolete' with Grammy-award winning Ducky Carlisle, who recorded, mixed and drummed on most of my first two solo albums (self-titled, 2013 & Obsolete, 2019). The vast majority of the skills I've acquired in recording, mixing, producing and mastering for myself and others come from watching, listening to, and receiving advice from Ducky.
Ducky's legendary skills produced hundreds of amazing albums throughout his illustrious career, including works by Buddy Guy, Norah Jones, Mike Viola, Bleu, Corin Ashley, Jim's Big Ego, Minky Starshine, Kelly Jones and Peter Parcek, just to mention several that spring to mind.
Adding to all that, Ducky was an amazing and generous friend, an amateur but effective therapist, and a larger-than-life personality to myself and countless others. RIP Ducky, I love you, brother.
