THE GRASS ROOTS(LIVE AUDIO)- "WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED YOU"

This audio was posted from the 2000 CD "The Grass Roots-Live at Last". In the booklet with the CD, Rob Grill wrote this: "Hi there! Let me introduce myself. My name is Rob Grill and I am one of the luckiest people on the planet. Since 1966 I have been fortunate enough to be the lead singer and bass player for the Grass Roots. That's three years before man first set foot on the moon. Really! Since that time we have recorded thirteen studio albums that have sold over twenty million copies worldwide. But there has never been a live album until now. Why now? Because of you! During the past few years, we have played more concerts for more people than at any other time in our history. The most asked question is "Where can I buy your CDs? So I thought why not record a live album so people can take home some of what they enjoyed in person. And "Voila" here it is. Some of you might notice that there are two songs here that were hits for other groups. These songs were written exclusively for The Grass Roots. But for some reason or another, we turned them down. Whoops! I just thought you would like to hear how they would sound had we recorded them. So, take this record home, pop it in your CD player and my guess is you'll be tapping your feet and singing along before the first song is over. I would like to thank the other members of The Grass Roots. They include Dusty Hanvey, Larry Nelson, and Joe Dougherty. And of course, all of you, without whom none of this would be possible. Special thanks to Howie Silverman and the gang at Paradise Artists, Chris Merrell, Hal Ratliff, Gene Vano/Showtime Travel, and also to the "Rock Babes", Nancy, Melissa, and Luann. We hope to see you next time we're in your area and as always, The Grass Roots thank you very, very, much! Sincerely, Rob Grill."
