George's Journal - Day 82: Up In The Air

March 23rd, 2024

This morning began leisurely with a stroll down to the Brisbane Powerhouse, where the vibrant hum of the Saturday farmer's markets filled the air. The scene was lively with locals and their dogs, making for a delightful backdrop as we indulged in some market fare. I opted for a smoked chicken bagel—a perfect start to the day.

After soaking in the market atmosphere, we headed home to pack, preparing for our afternoon flight to Sydney. The packing process was quick; anticipation for the trip made it efficient.

At the airport, we reunited with our long-time Australian drummer, Dean, in the Virgin Australia lounge. Catching up with him always brings a tonne of laughs, it's good to see him.

Our flight was smooth, and upon landing in Sydney, we checked into The Star Grand. The luxury and comfort of the hotel were a welcome embrace after our travels.

For dinner, we didn't stray far, choosing Din Tai Fung located at the bottom of our hotel. The dumplings there are exceptional, and we capped off our meal with a visit to Messina for some of the best ice cream Sydney has to offer.

The day wound down with a movie in our hotel room, a relaxed ending to a busy day. As we settled in, the excitement for tomorrow's early morning TV appearance on Weekend Sunrise lingered in the back of our minds.

Until tomorrow,

G.Shep xx
