Breaking Bread with Gary Dread - JACKFRUIT TACOS

Gary Dread of @The Movement shows us how to prepare jackfruit tacos!

Ingredients:
2 tablespoon olive oil  (divided)
1/2 a red onion, diced (one cup) or one fat shallot
4 garlic cloves, rough chopped
1/2 a jalapeno, finely diced (add more or less depending on spice preference- this is medium spicy)
20 ounce can of Jackfruit, drained.
1 tablespoon soy sauce or Braggs liquid amino acid

Spice Mix:
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin (whole seeds are nice too)
1 teaspoon dry Mexican Oregano
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, more for smokier
1/2 teaspoon sugar (to help caramelize)

Recipe:
1. Slice Jackfruit in half and separate seeds
2. Saute onions, garlic, and jalapeño
3. Saute jackfruit and soy sauce in a separate pan
4. Let the jackfruit and soy sauce hang together for 5 minutes, then add spice mix and 1 tbsp olive oil
5. Garnish with avocado and cilantro
