Monologue describes the dialogue with one‘s own meta-thoughts. It‘s about a toxic relationship with yourself. Knowing that you can‘t go on living with your own thoughts like this, but as an artist you love your dark side in a crazy way because it inspires and stimulates. A single that wants to be heard in a sleepless night, where it was once created.
With ‚Monologue‘, ROYALIST plunge into a raw soundscape in which intense verses are boldly interspersed with imposing, rousing choruses. The final touch and thus the unique sound was given to ‚Monologue‘ by the mastering of British audio engineer Ste Kerry, who has been setting standards in the rock Olympus since Sleep Token‘s latest album.
ROYALIST stand for earworm guarantee and are renowned for experimenting with a wide variety of genres to create novel, innovative soundscapes. The young Hamburg band formed in 2019, followed just a year later by their first label deal and a performance at the Reeperbahn Festival. In September 2021, ROYALIST celebrated the release of their debut album ‚VIOLET‘ with major curated playlist placements, enhanced with a release show filled to the ceiling in a Berlin scene club. After playing several club shows in Germany, the band embarked on their first major tour in 2022, supporting DIE HAPPY in Germany and the Czech Republic, ultimately leading to a partnership with booking agency ExtraTours at the beginning of the year. Whoever has experienced ROYALIST live once will be able to confirm it: It seems as if the four guys on stage literally tear themselves apart and give everything they have in this moment. The passion and intensity with which they confidently perform leaves the audience speechless.
