Laura Branigan performs "Hold Me" on the American Bandstand's 33 1/3 Anniversary TV Special.
The long-playing music and dance program was honored for its thirty three years of telecasts with a special, prime time telecast Sunday, December 1, 1985 (8:00-11:00 P.M., EST), on the ABC Televison Network. A celebration through song and remembrance with the presence of many music stars and performers onstage. Hosted by Dick Clark, the program featured more than 50 of the greatest names in the music industry. Among the performers featured were Chubby Checker, James Brown, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, Grace Slick, Dion, Donna Summer, Frankie Avalon, Fabian, Bobby Rydell, Rod Stewart, Johnny Mathis.
Laura had been a favorite guest of Dick's on American Bandstand since 1982 when she debuted with her big hit "Gloria," appearing on the show in 1983, 1984 and 1985 to perform songs from her new albums. She had the honor of being the last artist to perform on the last episode of American Bandstand aired on the ABC network in 1987. Her final appearance on the show was in 1988.
