“Take It Off, Stella” is a song about this working class yob who takes his date to the art deco inspired Cicada Club in Los Angeles all the while grousing internally about the price of the drinks while slowly going volcanic with desire for his date, Stella, who is “lookin’ great.” I reference the scene in Streetcar Named Desire where Brando shrieks and howls up at Stella’s window from down in the street like a horny tomcat. Once again, on At The Pink Rat, the theme of the slipping out of a repressed internal monologue is lampooned. It’s yet another number with a tad of Rockabilly feel to it.” - Steve Perry
