Press Release on the third, fourth and fifth album by Devachan:

'Romantic Tales', Devachan's third album published in full first on
YouTube on 1/1/2022, is a 37-minute-long 6-piece concept album that
concludes the 'Romantic trilogy' of albums. Each song on 'Romantic
Tales' is dedicated to an artist of the Romantic movement and era.

'The Hiker' is the first song on 'Romantic Tales' and is a tribute to
the Romantic painter 'Caspar David Friedrich' and his work which is also
the edited cover picture and one of his greatest works: The 'Wanderer
above the Sea of Fog'. There are also a lot of references to a famous
sci-fi show.

'John Keats' is the first released song from the album 'Romantic Tales'
and the second one on the album. The piece is (of course) a tribute to
the Romantic poet John Keats but also to his friend, the Romantic poet
Percy Bysshe Shelley. Shelley's elegy after Keat's early demise titled
'Adonais: An Elegy on the Death of John Keats' is referenced here in a
different (and more positive) context but also other poems by Keats are
referenced in fractions within the lyrics. Keats and Shelley were also
already referenced and quoted in Devachan's song 'His Brother Sleep' on
the album 'Darknet' (2020).

'Lord Byron' and 'His Brother Sleep' on the third and fifth spot on the
albume both are re-edited songs from the previous two albums dedicated
to George Gordon Byron and again John Keats and Percy Bysshe Shelley
respectively.

'Hyperion' is the fourth song on the album 'Romantic Tales'. The song
pays tribute to the Romantic poet and author Friedrich Hoelderlin who
like John Keats wrote about the theme of 'Hyperion' who originally is
the Greek Titan god of watchfulness and observation - which is also in
part what this song is about. Hoelderlin wrote about 'Hyperion' as a
novel of the same name and with his poem 'Hyperion's Song of Fate'. Both
of Hoelderlin's works are referenced in the lyrics of this song. By the
way, the chosen cover picture is the moon 'Hyperion' orbiting the
planet Saturn.

'Your Tell-Tale Heart' is the sixth, longest and last song from the
album 'Romantic Tales'. It is dedicated to the Romantic poet Edgar Allan
Poe. The tribute is to his short story titled 'The tell-tale heart'
although the song lyrics are about a different topic. Poe was also more
directly referenced in Devachan's song 'Dream Of Dreaming The Dream In A
Dreamer's Dream' on the album 'Darknet' (2020). Musically the song
features real stethoscope recordings of heartbeats that if you listen
closely actually 'pulse' all the way through the entire song. In the
chorus the 'offbeat pulse' mentioned in the lyrics is expressed and made
audible by an intriguing polyrhythmic heart tones overlay. Moreover,
longer 'percussive' middle and end section of the song is each entirely
and exclusively made up of superimposed auscultated heartbeats.

The Best-Of album 'The Be(a)st Of Devachan' published in full to Youtube
on 1/1/2023 concludes and summarises this 'Romantic album triplet'. It
contains 11 songs from the first three albums and one 'new' song which
is a 'cover' and re-edit of an existing Devachan song with different
lyrics for Metapoet's "Teutoburg" (Tribal / Nordic / Germanic Folk)
project.

After this cycle is concluded Devachan implements some slight stylistic
changes in order to start into a new direction with the fourth album
titled 'Post Apocalyptic Stress Syndrome' due in 2024.
