George's Journal - Day 56: The Spherical Spectacle

February 25th, 2024

Rising at the crack of 2 PM, I found myself relishing the rare luxury of a much needed lie-in. Like a bear emerging from hibernation, I awoke, not with a yawn, but a roar of readiness, rejuvenated and raring to tackle the day's challenges.

The day's first conquest involved the crafting of backing tracks for 'Edge of the Earth', our latest musical offspring, ready for a first unveiling at our Vegas show. I peel back the curtain on how I make our backing tracks, sharing snippets of what we hear on stage through our in ears.

As twilight beckoned, we ventured to the architectural marvel known as The Sphere. This colossal globe, a new addition to the Las Vegas skyline, promises an immersive cinematic experience, blending state-of-the-art technology with visual grandeur. 'Postcards From Earth' awaited us, promising a visual feast within this futuristic orb.

Dinner unfolded in the company of Ava Berman and Big Daddy Carlos, old friends who own the club where we played our first official American show. The evening was a delightful dance of nostalgia and camaraderie, seasoned with the vibrant flavors of Vegas cuisine.

The night's final act saw us at the airport, welcoming our US band mates Jon and Sean from Nashville. Their arrival heralded the impending symphony of soundcheck and rehearsals, setting the stage for the sonic spectacle awaiting in the wings of Sin City.

Until tomorrow,

G.Shep xx
