George's Journal - Day 48: Hallucinate

February 17th, 2024

Day 48 kicks off abruptly with the jarring blare of a fire alarm, courtesy of Amy's attempt at breakfast. It's a rude awakening that underscores my recent trend of disturbed slumbers.

Outside, LA defies its sunny stereotype, cloaked in an unusual gloom. The overcast sky mirrors my sleepy disorientation, a rare atmospheric empathy from a city known for its perpetual sun.

The day's main event, however, is anything but dreary. We're back with Brock, diving into the creation of "Hallucinate," a song that explores the intoxicating effects of love. The studio vibe with Brock is electric, our collaborative chemistry translating into a track that feels both dreamy and grounded.

As the session wraps, the arrival of our crew turns functional recording into a communal celebration. We rope everyone into laying down some gang vocals, transforming the studio into a lively hub of collective creativity. It's these moments of shared artistry that remind me why we chase this musical dream, especially in a city as fickle and fascinating as Los Angeles.

Day 48 weaves together the threads of unexpected starts, creative highs, and the joy of communal music-making. Despite its sleepy start and the city's gray mood, the day evolves into a testament to the vibrant heartbeat of collaboration and creation.

Until tomorrow,
